2011 Season - Week 16
Marcus back in Scoring Hall of Fame
As the battle to avoid the third and final drop-spot continues early on Sunday all four owners were separated by just one point. By the end of the week Marcus has climbed 28 points above the relegation line after he scored 53 points, one less than his highest ever total, set last year on his only other visit to the great hall. Collectively it is our 11th visit to the Hall this year, the second highest annual total ever – in 2002 we managed 13 visits to the Scoring Hall of Fame.
Relegation Update
With Marcus scoring 53 points more pressure is piled on H, Mark and Wayne to see who will join Aaron and David S in the Conference next year. Wayne currently occupies that place 3 points behind H but Mark is only 6 points from safety. This battle will go down to the last game as Mark has 2 Cowboy receivers and H 2 Giants and they face each other in the final regular season game on Sunday Night.
NFL Playoffs
The NFC is almost sorted with Green Bay, San Francisco and New Orleans winning their divisions and Detroit and Atlanta qualifying as wildcards leaving the winner of the Dallas New York game as NFC East champ. In the AFC New England won the East and Houston the South, with Baltimore and Pittsburgh both in but still to decide the winner of the North. If Denver win they take the West but if they lose and Oakland win it’s the Raiders division. Cinci have a one game lead in the chase for the wildcard over (in order) Oakland, Tennessee and NY Jets.
Injured Reserve
After a horrific knee injury Minnesota have put All-BUMS Running Back Adrian Peterson on IR, so Cheryl can replace him with another back for the final week. Having been eliminated from the playoffs Chicago put both Jay Cutler and Matt Forte on IR. So Cutler has played his last game as Dave G’s Franchise QB and can be replaced as Dave has $2m saved in his budget, while Wayne can sign another RB also up to the value of $2m. Changes to me by 5pm on Sunday please lady & gents.
BUMS on Seats
On Sunday we will be at HQ from 6pm to watch the Jets (8-7) @ Miami (5-10) followed by KC (6-9) @ Denver (8-7). As mentioned the NFC East decider is on Sunday Night and we will be meeting for breakfast at H’s at 9.30am on Bank Holiday Monday morning to see Dallas travel to The Giants, both teams are 8-7. Let him know if you are going so he can get enough Bacon! Finally I’d like to send you all very best wishes for you & yours in 2012.
